 Living with a child who has difficulty sleeping is not easy. I know. Often the effects can be felt by the whole family throughout the day. For days.

This course has 2 PDFs and over 2 hours of advice and practical techniques spread over 25 videos. It will help your children get to sleep earlier and enjoy a deeper, less disturbed sleep. And wake up more refreshed and relaxed. Your whole family will benefit!

‘Help your children sleep better' is aimed at you, the parents. To help you help your child by giving you practical, easy and quick techniques, brief visualisations and sensible advice that work. All of this can be easily adapted to suit your situation and your child’s age, interests and aptitude.

Everything in this course has been designed for, and successfully tested on, the 5 -11 age group but it can be readily adapted for older children.

Of course, the best way to bring these techniques successfully into the daily routine of a child is by discussion with them, rather than imposition although this may not always be appropriate or possible.

We know that a good night’s sleep is easier when we’re relaxed physically, mentally and emotionally. Hence, a major strand in this course is to develop a daily practice of relaxation which fits with your child’s lifestyle as well as looking carefully at their routines.

In addition to aiding sleep I expect this course to bring a stronger sense of calmness, better health, greater acceptance and enhanced creativity to your child. It also offers you the opportunity to encourage your child to observe themselves and see the value of fine-tuning themselves to sleep more easily and more fully.

In this course you will learn:

  •      how much sleep is recommended for your child, what effects a lack of sleep can have on children
  •      the value of keeping a sleep diary
  •      a range of easy, quick ways to relax, to calm the body and settle the mind during the day
  •      a range of in-bed exercises to relax first the body and then the mind - including mindful breathing exercises

You will also be given:
  •     information on how food and drink may influence sleep
  •   background on how guided visualisations work and advice/guidance on how to design your own guided visualisations for your child
  •     TEN guided visualisations
  •     advice on morning and evening routines that are helpful for good sleep
And all in easily accessible language.

My love of people, my deep curiosity in human behaviour, my desire to help people to become more complete, more balanced, more content, more fulfilled, and closer to who they have the potential to be have been life-long. 

So, it was probably no surprise that I worked for 36 years in secondary education in the UK - which I loved. Much of this time was devoted to providing guidance and support to pupils, staff and parents to try to enable them to see the value in the challenges and difficulties in their lives, to see the bigger picture, to see themselves and others less harshly, and to see the value of less fear.

After retiring early I moved with my wife to beautiful Devon in the summer of 2014 and continue to offer advice to those who come to me in need. 

As a long time meditator I find its value to myself and others huge. I began teaching it years ago (last century actually!) whilst I was still teaching and now teach meditation to both individuals and groups face-to-face and online. In addition, I have led evening, day and weekend retreats as well as many sessions more tightly focused on reducing stress. Designing and recording bespoke visualisations and teaching meditation 1-2-1 are in demand at the moment.

I also enjoy working with individuals to help them and their children sleep better, to be less negative in outlook, to be more mindful in their communication, to be less anxious, to be more reflective, and to enjoy life more. In all that I do my aim is always to offer practical advice to all in an appropriate, accessible, enjoyable, based in good science and discursive manner.

During the pandemic visits to businesses and schools to deliver talks and workshops have ceased although online meetings seem to work very well.
